Individuals can access psychological intervention and/or assessment from Psychology Centre Newcastle directly by contacting 1300 294 619 or by contacting us here. Individuals seeking a Medicare rebate for psychological intervention will need to ensure that they have obtained a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP prior to their first session.
At Psychology Centre Newcastle we provide a range of comprehensive psychological and diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents and adults.
We conduct evaluations to assess cognitive functioning, personality traits, behavioural functioning, emotional well-being, neurodevelopmental differences and mental health conditions. These assessments provide valuable insights into an individual's strengths, challenges, and treatment needs.

Assessments are tailored specifically to meet the individual needs of each child, adolescent or adult and can include clinical interview, test administration, questionnaires, observation, and phone interview with other sources (e.g., teachers). A written report and a feedback session to discuss the results of the assessment will also be included.
At Psychology Centre Newcastle, we provide individual therapy for children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing mental health problems, family or relationship issues or other personal challenges.

In addition to training, Psychology Centre Newcastle offer expert consultation to other professionals regarding a range of different psychological issues and presentations, including psychological disorders (e.g., Borderline Personality Disorder, ADHD, PTSD etc), vicarious trauma and burnout, childhood trauma, child adjustment, disruptive behaviour and violence in children and adolescents, and juvenile and adult deliberate fire setting. Our psychologists are also able to offer critical incident debriefing and employee education assistance programs.

Our psychologists are approved by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to provide clinical supervision to psychologists. We support professional development for psychologists and endorsement for clinical psychology registrars.
